ESPN anchor and host John Saunders dies at 61

John Saunders a long time anchor and “Sports Reporters” host passed away Wednesday at the age of 61. He was one of the longest tenured employees at the company at nearly 30 years and very familiar on-air face to many.

Saunders covered many sports for ESPN such as Hockey, college basketball and college football. He was also an anchor for sportscenter and was a fixture on the “Sports Reporters” since 2001 after the passing of Dick Schaap.

John was also a founding member of The V Foundation for cancer research and served on the board of directors.

He is survived by his wife Wanda and two daughters, Aleah and Jenna.
